Commission Terms and Conditions

Thank you for your interest in commissioning a bespoke piece of art by Jenna Ferguson.

In booking your commission and on payment of the deposit, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

1. Commission Slot: The time taken to create the artwork will vary depending on the size and complexity of the work. Once we have fully discussed the details of your bespoke artwork, you will be notified of my earliest availability to begin the work and will be provided with an estimated timeframe for completion.

2. Deposit: In order to secure your commission slot, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required prior to commencing work. The balance is due upon artwork completion (prior to shipping/collection).

3. Progress: Colour scheme/painting style will be discussed at the beginning of the commission process. Colour studies may be used early in the process to explore colour combinations and if so you will be sent photos of these (by e-mail/social media messages) in order to ensure the colours/painting style is as you envisaged. Moving forward with creating the larger artwork, you will be kept up to date with the painting progress using photos/videos for approval. I encourage a collaborative approach to create the artwork and welcome your feedback, so that I can paint a special, original artwork that reflects your choice of colour and style.

4. Amendments: Each commission quote allows for up to 2 minor amendments, prior to the painting being varnished and resin being applied. Please keep in mind that due to the nature of working with alcohol inks as a fluid art medium, sometimes making changes to one area can affect other areas of the artwork. This will be discussed with you as required and again, a collaborative approach will be taken toward making any changes.

Any further changes to the artwork at this stage can be requested for an additional fee (quoted separately).

- Please note that for resin artwork, no changes can be made to the composition of the painting when the resin has been applied. Any alterations must be made prior to the painting being varnished/coated with resin.

- Relating to paintings that include white pigment in resin to create sea foam: Resin is a fluid medium which by nature can be difficult to predict end results. Your initial commission quote will include one base layer of resin, one layer with white pigment, and one final resin top coat. Any further coats of resin to alter the composition of the white pigment can be requested (you will be provided with a quote for the additional work/materials involved in this).

5. Shipping: The cost of shipping is not included in the commission quote. A shipping quote will be given to you as early as possible during the commission process. Occasionally this may need to be after completion of the artwork, so that it can be weighed and an accurate shipping cost given (particularly for resin artworks as these can widely vary in weight depending on the number of layers of resin applied).

Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of bespoke artworks, it is highly recommended that art is posted using ‘tracked and signed for’ delivery services and include appropriate insurance cover. If you choose for artwork to be posted without this then you acknowledge that this is at your own risk and a replacement artwork/refund will not be provided.

Customers are responsible for any customs charges, if applicable. Please contact your local customs office prior to purchase for more details on duties, taxes and fees according to your countries regulations.

Please ensure your Shipping Address is correct at the time of purchase. Any postage paid on orders returned to sender due to errors in your Shipping Address will be invoiced to you before the order can be shipped again.

6. Returns/Refunds: There are no returns or refunds on custom made original artworks.

7. Original Art Care Note: Each piece of original art has been carefully sealed with a protective UV varnish spray. However to best preserve the vibrancy of colour and minimise any possible colour fading over time, it is recommended all original artworks are kept out of direct sunlight and where possible displayed behind UV protective glass.
