“Little Ocean Jewel – Isle of Harris”

Lisa commissioned me to create a special artwork for her husband’s birthday. Lisa and Joel live in Texas, USA, and have visited Scotland twice and fell in love with it. She asked me to base the artwork on the style of my ‘Little Ocean Jewel’ collection of paintings, and “use colours that are reminiscent of the beaches on Harris – the sand, the deep turquoise sea, and the clouds”. Lisa sent me some of her favourite photos from their time visiting the isle of Harris, which I used to inspire the painting. When I create custom resin paintings, I always send photos/videos to the client when I have painted the piece on paper, before the resin is applied. Lisa’s lovely response to the paper painting was “OMG, you nailed it!! I couldn’t love it more.”
I then mounted the work to the wooden panel and gave it the gorgeous glossy resin finish, incorporating glitter for that soft glistening ocean effect. Lisa’s feedback to the video of the finished piece was, “Oh Jenna, it’s absolutely PERFECT! Thank you so much!”
Lisa’s husband Joel was delighted with the thoughtful gift he received on his birthday. And Lisa went on to commission another Little Ocean Jewel painting for her own birthday later that year!
